B47: compare the insert and body.

B47 bullet teeth are round shank chisels with a tungsten carbide tip and steel body. K22 and K22H share a 22 mm insert diameter but show different insert-section heights. The D variants widen the body and add visible protective buttons.

The drawings use Ø30 / Ø38 mm lower-interface callouts for these references. Similar shank dimensions do not by themselves confirm holder, retention or working-projection compatibility.

A holder is part of the cutting geometry.

The angled B43H block and rounded BHR holders present different external shapes and welding surfaces. Bore steps, seating length and retainer engagement must agree with the selected tooth. A worn or incorrectly positioned holder can change the tooth attitude even when the replacement tooth itself is correct.

BODY WEAR / THREE DIFFERENT APPROACHES

What changes around the carbide?

The main insert cuts the rock. These protection arrangements address erosion of the supporting steel around it. The photographs show three approaches from our product presentation; specify the option on the selected tooth version.

Laser-fused protection

A laser melts the protection material onto the steel surface. The photograph shows the treatment around the shoulder below the main insert.

Hard-facing

Deposited wear-resistant material forms a visible band around the tooth shoulder, protecting the supporting body area.

Carbide buttons

Additional tungsten-carbide buttons are inserted around the body. They protect a different area from the main cutting insert.

Range-level examples; the photographed teeth are not labelled as B47K22. Grade, protection coverage and the actual supplied variant are specified separately.

The insert-to-body joint matters.

Carbide, brazing and body support.

Our round-shank catalogue describes tungsten-carbide inserts, induction brazing and a wear-resistant steel body. The insert needs support from the surrounding steel; an intact carbide tip can still be undermined by body erosion. A sound braze joint and an appropriate wear-protection arrangement address different parts of that failure path.

Carbide grade, body treatment and the supplied protection option belong to the selected variant. During a trial, record body wear, tip condition, rotation in the holder and retention at the same inspection intervals.

A lifted-tool inspection prompted a change in method. At the Guangdong site, the crew cleared packed cuttings and reviewed the recovered ground before switching to direct bucket work.

The report connects the drilling sequence, tooth-rotation checks and the operator’s response. It helps separate a cutting-part question from a wider clearing or method question.

The reported progress after the method change is not a measured gain in B47K22 tooth life.
